Canada’s New Leader To Implement Marijuana Legalization “Right Away”

November 4, 2015  —  By

Justin Trudeau, Canada’s newest Prime Minister, has said he plans to work on the process of regulating and taxing marijuana “right away”. He warns that he’s not sure how long the process will take, it could take a few months to about 2 years at most.

These measures aim to improve the following points

  • Keeping cannabis out of the hands of minors
  • Remove the black market profits from criminal organizations and put those funds back into Canada
  • Cease using tax dollars to charge and imprison Canadian cannabis users
  • Give Canadians the freedom to make their own choices
